With so many mixed reviews of Los Angeles available to us on the internet, it’s hard to know if it’s a good place to visit or not. Los Angeles has a population of close to eight million people and covers hundreds of miles of space, so there isn’t one clear answer to this question. The neighborhoods in Los Angeles range from the luxurious Hollywood Hills all the way down to the rough and dangerous neighborhood of Compton. The reason this question is hard to answer is because of the diversity that you find in L.A. There certainly are great areas that are a lot of fun but there are also certainly areas that you should steer clear of so we wanted to share with you some of our findings while roaming around the streets of L.A.
Hollywood is full of glitz, glam, million dollar sports cars, and some of the most famous people on the planet. If you were to walk down Rodeo Dr., you could easily find yourself looking at thousand dollar handbags and pairs of jeans that would suit only the richest people on the planet. Hollywood is a very unique place because of the amount of money people have to spend here which is why we recommend coming here. Even if you’re not making millions of dollars and can’t afford the finer things in life provided to you in this town, we still think it’s a fun place to hangout and people watch. If you sit around this town long enough you’re sure to see some stars and you’ll also see some “wanna” be stars that will probably make you laugh you butt off. It is true that you won’t find the most hospitable environment here. Most people think they’re too good to be nice to people and they’re above being a normal human being.
Aside from the glitz and glam of this town, there are also some fun things to do here aside from shopping and people watching. Hollywood is home to the infamous Universal Studios theme park. This is a place that we would highly recommend visiting if you are with your family or have small children. There are tons of cool rides and attractions here and it is very easy to kill an entire day walking around the park. If you don’t feel like spending a bunch of money on entertainment, take a trip around some of the nicer neighborhoods in Hollywood. There are tons of million dollar mansions in the area and even more in Beverly Hills which is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from Hollywood. There are even tours that will take you around to the nicest neighborhoods L.A. has to offer so you can get a glimpse into the lives of the rich and famous.
Even though you can have an amazing time in L.A., if you venture into the wrong neighborhood you can have a horrible time. Crenshaw & Compton, just to name a few, are some of the roughest neighborhoods in the entire country. We highly recommend getting a map and becoming familiar with the areas that you want to visit and make sure to steer clear of the ones you don’t. It’s not uncommon for tourist to end up in the wrong part of town and get robbed or car jacked. We hope these tips help guide you if you’re looking to take a trip to L.A. We want you to experience this awesome city but we also want you to be careful and know what really goes on here.
